From Nov. 1 to 3, as part of the 51st Reggello Extra Virgin Olive Oil Festival, “Bimbi in Rassegna” returns, a rich program of workshops dedicated to young children. A special opportunity to involve children in creative and fun activities, promoting the culture and traditions of the area.
On Friday, Nov. 1, from 3 to 4 p.m., little chefs will be able to participate in the cooking workshop “In cucina con la massaia Silvana,” organized by Pro Loco Reggello and Cascia. Next, from 4 to 5 p.m., there will be “Invitation to Court with Snack,” an art workshop led by Daniela Mattini of the Pieve Group. Participants will also enjoy a snack of schiacciata alla fiorentina and bread and oil from Reggello. This workshop is part of the regional project to celebrate the 450th anniversary of the death of Cosimo I dei Medici and Giorgio Vasari.
On Saturday, Nov. 2, from 3 p.m., children can enjoy “Emilio the Olive Tree Tombola,” organized by the Reggello State Comprehensive Institute. At 3 p.m., housewife Silvana returns with a cooking workshop, followed from 4 to 5 p.m. by the hands-on workshop “It’s Olive Time,” dedicated to the manual harvesting of olives, by the ISIS Vasari Agricultural School in Figline Valdarno.
On Sunday, Nov. 3, from 3 to 5 p.m., there will be “Walking with Emilio the Olive Tree,” a creative workshop for children ages 6 to 11. The young participants will explore nature in a loop trail. Also from 3 p.m., housewife Silvana will be back in the kitchen with the children, and from 4 to 6 p.m. there will be art workshops for children and teens. Outside the arena, young and old can enjoy “The Oil Game,” by the O.R.S.A. Blue St. Agatha Parish Animators Group.
